Please - Water Thouroghly

Please everyone - now that it is hot, make sure your bonsai is saturated with water every time you water it. Now is the season when poor watering causes pockets of dry soil in the pot. The roots in these pockets will weaken and die, compromising the health of the whole plant. The roots that are healthy will be near the top and sides of the pot. Here they will be more succeptable to drying and freezing.

On the other hand a well hydrated plant should survive a hot, hot day; desiccating winds; or a variety of other ailments. The bonsai will grow more evenly, the nebari will form nicer, and the leaves will remain more lustery.
